(Apologies to Brian Bolland)
Now while most of you might be thinking "Thank God. A break from Silvani's crayon scribblings." You would be wrong. Not only will I be contributing the A & B covers with colors by the witty and wenchtastic Amy Mebberson, but I will also be inking a special incentive cover by DW creator Tad Stones! And if that wasn't enough to put your persimmons in a pickle I will have the honor of illustrating the first ever Darkwing Duck comic book story written by Mr. Stones. 8 glorious pages of flapping terror colored by our very own Andrew Dalhouse.
Now since most of the art here can be seen in one form or another around the intranets, here's a special end of the year present to all of you who have made this the best year of my professional career ever. These are some of my sketches for the many alternate Darkwings that appeared thought the soon-to-be-wrapped-up "Crisis on Infinite Darkwings" storyline. When I first got the script, the story called for about 10 or so alternate DW's. But with a title like "Infinite Darkwing's" now could I not go a little overboard. I think when it was all said and done, I had created over 12,522 alternate DW's. Hey Kids, collect 'em all!
Happy New Year! Thank you all for checking out my site and for not using my comics as just a coaster.

Yet more delightful art. I love the new covers and I'm especially excited seeing FOWL High Command. Would you happen to know if we're going to see them sans shadows?
ReplyDeleteHey James,
ReplyDeleteThis is all great stuff, but what about the TaleSpin/Darkwing crossover pic you mentioned a while ago on Twitter? I just can't wait to see that!
Thanks for taking a look. I started a couple of sketches with that DW/TS crossover but each one has gone in the trash. Jungle Book is my favorite Disney film (the first one I saw in the theatre) so I wanna get my Baloo juuuuust right.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's great to hear!
ReplyDeleteEven though I would have liked to see these sketches you dumped, I'm sure they were already awesome :)
TaleSpin is very different from Jungle Book though. Even Baloo himself, more humanized (hands, no tail, shirt etc...), with same personality, but more "complex" in the series!
I didn't get the chance to read teh whole comic but people said that the univere alternatives Darkwing are awsome. They tell me what king of Darkwing appear. But I wonder are they al, and I mean ALL the darkwings? 'Cos I think Negaduck can't get enough patience to travel all the universes to get all the Darkwing... Maybe the 45% or 55% of them... I was imaginated an alternative Darkwing like a warlock(Darkwarlock Duck) or and rider cursed with a demoniac fire curse, like the Ghostrider (Daredevil Duck)... Oh, or even better; an universe where Drake still a little boy and he's got a hero mother: Yeah, Gosalyn, as Crimson Duckette!
ReplyDeleteOf course I can't tell you what to draw, I just saying what I like about and an idea for a long future.
Keep working!^^
