NYCC commission pre-oreders are open!

So here’s the deal- work (the real stuff I do) has exploded and given me less opportunity to prepare for New York Comic Con. That means I’m opening up now for a VERY limited amount of commission slots.

This time around I’ll only be taking COLOR 9”x12”commissions starting at $60 per character. I don’t travel with my full set of color markers (I gotta swim there from Hawaii fer chrissakes) so this will be the only way to get full color art. You can email me here with your requests.
Amy Mebberson and I will be taking fresh commission lists everyday of the show. We usually fill up by noon so get there early. If you want your piece done only in grey markers, I will take your orders at the con.
Remember this is for pick-up at NYCC only. I’m afraid I can’t take any mailing orders at this time. You can pick up your work at Artist Alley table C16. Don’t forget I will also have my first sketchbook debuting at the show.
I look forward to seeing everyone in NYC. Save me a slice of Original Famous Ray's. Or is it Ray's Original Famous?

Mailing commissions are open!

*Update- Commissions are now closed
I found myself with a bit of post SDCC time so I am open for a very limited number of commission slots for mailing. If you can’t make it to one of the conventions I attend, this is your best opportunity to get an original piece of your choosing.
The options are the same. All work is done on 9”x12” bristol board. Grey marker pieces start at $50 per character and full color pieces start at $60. Prices go up for more than one character, backgrounds, props, etc. All orders will include $7 for shipping and handling.
Unfortunately on this round I will not be taking any foreign orders. I’ve had some problems with the overseas commissions arriving in one piece. Until I can figure out a better shipping method I’m going to hold off on sending art internationally.
And again, I won’t be drawing anything x-rated or overly violent. (I really work on these characters and I don’t wanna do anything to disparage them). I also won’t be doing any portraits/caricatures. Believe me, there are much better artists to capture a likeness than me.
Otherwise, go nuts. I love a good mashup challenge. Check this blog and my tumblr for ideas and email me here with your requests
If you are attending either Comikaze in LA or New York Comic Con, I will be open for pre-orders in September. I can deliver your commissions in person and save you the cost of shipping. Check back for details.

San Diego Comic Con commission pre-orders are open!

It’s nearly time for the gaping maw of Comic Con to consume us and Amy Mebberson and I are taking commission orders for pickup in San Diego.
Prices are as such…
$20 for head shots. 5”x7” bristol cards with a head and shoulders shot of your favorite character done in grey markers.
$40 starting for character full body art on 9”x12” bristol with grey markers. Additional characters, props and setting go up from there.
$60 and up for full color versions of the 9”x12” art. Color is available for pre-commissions only.
Amy and I always fill up early in the day for Comic Con so this is you best way to guarantee your art and pick it up at your leisure (Comic Con…? Leisure…?). Pre-commissions also allow us to do work away from the madness of the show floor and give your piece it’s full attention.
Email me here with your questions and requests. Samples of con commissions can be found on my Tumblr page. Payments can be made via Paypal. I look forward to seeing you all in San DIego.
Because of time constraints I will not be taking mailing commissions until after the con. Thanks for your patience

Heroescon commissions are now open

Hereoscon is June 22-24 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Amy Mebberson and I will be there along with our other cohorts from Cadence Comic Art. If you are headed there and would like some schmancy art, we are now open for commission pre-orders.
The Drill (as usual)- all art is done on 9”x12” bristol board. Grey marker pieces start at $40 for a single character and color works (available for pre-orders only) start at $60. At this time I’m only doing orders for pickup at the show, mailing orders will be available on a limited basis at some time before Comic Con. We will announce our plans for Comic Con and mailing commissions in June.
Check though my tumblr for ideas. DIsney, superheroes, dragons, Ninja Turtles, Godzilla, Superhero dragons, superhero dragons eating cheese, superhero chee… But I digress.
Email me here for requests and questions. Looking forward to a great show and meeting you all there. Bring cheese.

Wondercon commission pre-orders are open!

Sorry it's been so long since an update here. Most of my new art gets posted on my Tumblr page these days. I have been keeping busy doing new Disney art for European comics which I hope to post around these parts here soon.
In the meantime, I'm happy to announce in the next few months I will be at Wondercon, Emerald City Comic Con and C2E2 and commissions pre-orders for WC are open now.
March 16 to 18 Wondercon is going to be at the Anaheim convention center this year (sorry SF, you will be missed). The Mistress of Monkeyshines, Amy Mebberson and I will be in Artists Alley at tables 156 and 157. We will have books, select prints and we’ll be taking your commission requests all weekend long.
But if you want to get in on the action early, you can order your commission now. I have a very limited of slots open for pick up at Wondercon ONLY. (We will open for Emerald City Comic Con and C2E2 commissions after WC. Commissions for mailing are not open at this time)
All art is on 9”x12” sheets of bristol board. Grey marker art starts at $40 for a single character. For preorders only I also offer color art starting at $60 a character. Check my tumblr page and my main site for samples of what I offer.
Email me here with your requests. Looking forward to seeing you all at the show. New Orleans Square Mint Juleps are on me.

Off to Europe

Hey gang,

Finished this round of commissions so my wife and I are off to Europe for our first real vacation together. Now at this point you're saying "Shmuck, you live in Hawai'i. You're on vacation all year long!" Yeah, but even sun and poi gets old when it's 365 days a year. Plus I hear they have really good cheese in Europe.

So to tidy up...

-The final issues of my Kaboom duck titles are out as well as the 4th trade collection of Darkwing called "Campaign Carnage". The trade for the Ducktales/Darkwing crossover should be out before the end of the year.

-If you ordered a commission from me, they are being sent out this week (11/21). They might be a little late because of Thanks giving but you'll be in too much of a tryptophan coma to notice.

-I MIGHT be opening for a few last minute Christmas gift commissions when I get back around December 10th. Watch this space plus my Twitter and Tumblr for details.

Thanks again for all the support on DW for the last year and a half. I really appreciate it.

Now if someone could point me to the secret pin trading spot at Disneyland Paris so I can scope out a few rare DW pins, that would be great
